- Beliefs | PIBC
Beliefs What We Believe We focus on Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Bible in governing all areas of our living and beliefs. In summary, our beliefs are: We believe in one God, who exists eternally in three co-equal persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the authority of the Bible as our primary source of information and authority regarding our faith and living. It is authoritative in its approach to every area of life it addresses. We believe the Bible is the very words of God, and as such are without error. We believe that it was uniquely given to mankind and is absolutely trustworthy. It provides us with God’s loving gift of salvation, his plan in human history, and successful principles for daily living. We believe that originally, mankind was created by God in the process of a literal seven-day creation period and that the first man, Adam, chose to willfully turn his back on God through disobedience (sin), which resulted in him being relationally separated from God. That sinfulness has been passed down to each following generation of mankind, separating them from God as well. We believe that as a result, mankind has a bent toward evil and not good. This bent is called sin. We believe that because of His love for mankind, God made a way to overcome man’s sinful bent by sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, Who was born of a virgin to die as a payment for man’s disobedience. We believe that after His death, He rose from the dead by the power of God on the third day. His sacrificial death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead provide the only avenue through which restoration with God the Father is possible. We believe that through the simple, personal act of depending upon Jesus' death as the full payment for our sins, each individual can be restored to a right and intimate relationship with God (becomes a Christian). We believe that once a person has placed their trust in Jesus Christ in this way, they receive within themselves the Holy Spirit, Who is their Helper, Teacher, and Guide in all areas of life and spiritual knowledge. The Holy Spirit works in the life of Christians to transform their character so that over time they begin to take on the character of Jesus Christ. Though this is the Holy Spirit’s role, individual Christians can resist His efforts through disobedience to Him, which results in a lack of fulfillment in life, the discipline of God on the person, and loss of eternal rewards in the future. We believe that all people who place their faith in Jesus Christ in this way are united together into one unit, one “body” called the church. The church gathers together for encouragement, teaching, and worship for the purpose of better equipping each member to help others in the church and to spread the message of salvation through Jesus to their individual communities. We believe in and regularly take part in two symbolic acts within our church; Communion (also known as The Lord’s Supper or The Lord’s Table) and Baptism. Communion is a remembrance of the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ and is participated in by those trusting in Him for their salvation. A baptism is an act in which the person being baptized is identifying themselves with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection; symbolizing that they, like Jesus now have a new life. We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus to earth. After this will be a time of universal judgment (known as the Great White Throne Judgment) when God will make the final judgment on all men based upon their acceptance or rejection of Jesus as Savior. Those who have accepted Him as Savior are eternal citizens of God’s kingdom while those who have rejected God’s loving offer of salvation through Christ will be eternal residents of Hell.

About Us: A Note from Pastor Joshua New to PIBC? Welcome to Pacific Islands Bible Church. As the Senior Pastor of PIBC, it is my prayer, hope, and joy for you to be a part of our Ohana (family) as we share in fellowship (community) with our Lord Jesus Christ. As a newcomer to PIBC, I first want to welcome you to our Ohana by explaining what you will most likely encounter on your first few visits. First, we have two parking lots; one in front of the church and one behind the church. Connecting these two parking lots are two one-way roads that wrap around the structural building of PIBC. If you need a closer parking space, we have two designated handicapped parking places located by the front doors. Simply drive up and park. Second, a typical Sunday service lasts approximately one hour. We worship in song for about 20-30 minutes followed up with a practical 30-minute lesson. It should be important to note that our service starts at 10:00 AM. There is generally a ten-minute break between the singing and the beginning of the sermon. This ten-minute break allows parents to sign their children into our Keiki Sunday School. Thirdly, our bands generally sing from four to six songs. We do not have a pause during our praise time, once the singing begins there is no break until the bands step down from the stage. When the band members step down from the stage this is the designated time for announcements. If by chance, someone misses the announcements, they are also printed on the Sunday Bulletin along with the sermon notes. Please ensure to ask the greeters for the church bulletin. Finally, if you would like to listen or watch sermons prior to coming to our PIBC Ohana, please feel free to click on WATCH SUNDAY MESSAGES for any of the past messages. If you would like to attend one of the many ministries we have at PIBC please check HERE for any upcoming events or scheduled outings.
