Doctrinal Statement

We rest our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as our basis of salvation, as well as believe the Bible to be the basis of the principles for teaching and practice.  The principles and doctrines may be summarized as follows  We believe in:

The pre-eminence of Jesus Christ as our Divine Lord and Savior.  We believe in one God, who exists eternally in three co-equal persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

(Matt 28:19John 10:30; John 14:7,9; Cor 13:14).

The sole authority of the Bible and its sufficiency as our rule of faith and practice.  We believe the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts.  It is our supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.  It was written by men divinely and uniquely inspired and is absolutely trustworthy.  It provides us with God’s principles for daily living.  (2 Tim 3:16,172 Peter 1:211 Cor 2:13).

The guidance of the Holy Spirit in interpretation of Scripture and the individual priesthood of each soul in direct approach to God.  We believe in the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment.  He regenerates, sanctifies and empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ, and He is an abiding helper, comforter, teacher and guide.  (Hebrews 4:16John 16:8-13Titus 3:51 Cor 6:19Rom 8:9b1 Cor 12:13; Eph 1:13,14; Eph 5:18Gal 5:22-23)

The depravity of man.  We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost spiritually, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.   We believe that through the simple, personal act of depending upon Jesus' death as the full payment for our sins, each individual can be restored to a right and intimate relationship with God (become a Christian).  (Ps. 51:5; Rom. 2:5; 3:9-19; 3:23; 5:15, 6:23; Eph. 2:3-5)

The independent authority of the local church and its accompanying interdependence in fellowship with churches of like faith and order.  (1 Cor. 12:12-13Col. 1:18; Eph. 2:14-16)

The spiritual unity of all believers. (John 17:11, 17:22, 1 Cor 12:7)

Regenerate church membership.  All members shall be those who are born again spiritually.  They have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and are seeking to obey His teachings. (1 Cor. 12:12-13Col. 1:18Eph. 2:14-16)

It is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ as their Savior. This assurance is not based upon any kind of human merit, but is produced by the witness of the Holy Spirit, who confirms in the believer the testimony of God in His written Word. The Holy Spirit’s fullness, filling, power, and guidance are appropriated in the believer’s life by faith. (Rom. 5:9-108:129- 3038-39John 5:2410:27-3014:16Phil. 1:6Heb. 7:25Jude 24).  The moment someone receives Jesus, the Holy Spirit places them (baptizes them) into the body of Jesus Christ and distributes their gifting as He wills. (1Cor 12:11-13)

Symbolic ordinances of believer’s Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which are open to all believers in obedience to the commands of Christ.  (1Cor. 1:24-26; Matt. 28:19)

A worldwide program of missionary fervor and evangelism in obedience to the final command of the Lord Jesus Christ.  (Matt 28:19Mark 16:15Luke 24:47-48).

The personal (harpazo-rapture) and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth.  We believe in the resurrection of the body, the rewards and judgment of believers, the final judgment of unbelievers, the eternal felicity of the righteous and the endless suffering of the wicked. (1 Thes. 4:13-18; Matt. 25:31-462 Cor. 5:1-10; Rev. 20:11-15; 1 Cor. 15:12ff;  Phil. 1:23)
